Elizabeth Sanchez

Elizabeth Sanchez is a First Amendment Fellow who provides legal services through research and guidance on content, access, FOIA, and general newsroom matters. She graduated with her Juris Doctor from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in 2023. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Multimedia Journalism from the University of New Mexico in 2018. During law school, she held legal internships at the Center for Investigative Reporting (Reveal), The Markup, and Boston Globe Media Partners. Prior to law school, she wrote for various publications in New Mexico and served as the editor-in-chief at the Daily Lobo, an independent student publication at UNM. Supporting freedom of the press has been a longtime goal and passion for Sanchez. She is currently based in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
